About Tangram
Tangram is the ancient Chinese dissection puzzle brought to your screen with modern polish. You are given seven flat geometric pieces — the tans — consisting of five triangles, one square, and one parallelogram. Your goal is to arrange all seven pieces to perfectly fill a target silhouette without any overlap or gaps. With hundreds of shapes ranging from simple animals to abstract patterns, Tangram provides a meditative yet challenging spatial puzzle experience that has delighted minds for centuries.
Game Features
How to Play
- 1Drag tangram pieces from the tray onto the target silhouette
- 2Rotate pieces by tapping or using a rotation gesture
- 3Flip the parallelogram piece when needed (it is the only asymmetric piece)
- 4All seven pieces must be used — no piece left unused
- 5Pieces cannot overlap each other
- 6Fill the entire silhouette perfectly with no gaps
- 7Complete the shape to advance to the next puzzle
Tips & Strategies
Start with the largest pieces (the two big triangles) to establish the shape outline
Identify right angles and straight edges in the silhouette to guide placement
The parallelogram is often the trickiest — remember it can be flipped
Work from the corners inward for geometric shapes
If stuck, try removing all pieces and starting fresh with a different approach
Look for familiar sub-shapes (squares, rectangles) within the silhouette
